We have a clear vision of what we want to achieve at Horsted Keynes Preschool:

• To offer children a warm, fun, nurturing place to play, learn, explore, develop, and grow into ‘happy healthy children’, one where children feel valued and included and where their individuality is respected and valued.

• To provide exceptional opportunities for children to learn through play and exploration.

• To be the first step in each child’s education journey fostering a lifelong curiosity and love of learning, an awareness of their world, and to give them the tools to be confident, capable, successful learners.

Our Aims

At Horsted Keynes Preschool, we believe that every day is a learning day, and that learning is all around us. As well as being a place of learning, we pride ourselves on ensuring that all children are coming into a loving, caring, home from home environment where they are valued and listened to. We also involve children and parents in trying to continually improve.

At Horsted Keynes Preschool, we aim to achieve our vision by:

• providing a safe and secure Preschool environment, with the highest standards of care, with a nurturing family-feel environment.

• Working in close partnership with parents, the community, and other agencies to develop the individuality and potential of each child.

• Having an ethos based on respect, developing ambition and achievement, and promoting skills for learning and life.

• Offering children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.   

 

How do we achieve that?

These aims will be achieved through rigorous application of the goals within the Early Years Foundation stage. We will use the diverse talents and skills of the staff team to unlock every child’s potential, with high quality leadership at all levels ensuring a culture of continuous learning and development of every member of staff with opportunities for all to fulfil their potential. We have a well-equipped indoor facility and a secure outdoor play area, in a village setting. We have close links with the reception class at St Giles and aim to ensure the smooth transition of all children from Preschool to whichever Primary school they move on to.
